ECCE 2026 - European Conference on
Cognitive
Ergonomics
Toward a new sustainable and peaceful alliance between humanity and technology
The European Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics (ECCE) is the flagship annual event of the
European Association of Cognitive Ergonomics (EACE).
In 2026, ECCE will take place in Siena, a historic and culturally vibrant city in the heart of Tuscany.
Its strong humanistic heritage and dedication to knowledge, dialogue, and social wellbeing provide an
inspiring setting for this edition’s theme: Toward a New Sustainable and Peaceful Alliance Between Humanity
and Technology.
This theme invites us to reflect on how cognitive ergonomics and design-oriented disciplines can support
more responsible, inclusive, and harmonious relationships between people and technological systems, benefiting
individuals, communities, and society at large.
ECCE 2026 welcomes original contributions that advance the fields of cognitive ergonomics and human–technology
interaction, whether through theoretical innovation, methodological refinement, or practice-based research.
